Importing the project in IntelliJ is very easy. If you are still not sure what IDE to use, you can look at my arguments for IntelliJ below. has a great guide for Eclipse with is pinned in the Code Help section of this forum. If you are really interested in getting the best experience while coding, I want you to look at Eclipse AND IntelliJ first and only after that continue with this guide if you have chosen IntelliJ, or find a guide for Eclipse. First of all I want to say that it is completely up to you what IDE you want to use. ![]() An exception would be if you know C#, as these languages are very similar. ![]() That is not how it works and will make your experience horrible. Please do not say, that you want to "learn Java by making Forge mods". ![]() Before you can start modding, you need to have a basic understanding of Java.
